Have you ever had to leave somewhere in a hurry or had to
rush out of the house and had absolutely no
time to fuss with make up? We've all been there at one time or another. So what do we do when we need to leave in a hurry but need
to make ourselves look at least halfway presentable? Perfect your own five-minute make up routine.
So where should you start? If you have to rush out the
door and you only have time to apply a few quick techniques, grab your
mascara, blush, and lip balm...and your confidence!
- Mascara. Mascara can help anyone's eyes look more awake and alive, even without applying eyeliner (if they usually do so). It doesn’t take much to liven up those eyes, even if it’s only a brush stroke or two. If anything, less is more...as this can lead to clumping lashes, and will look like you really did get ready in a rush.
- Blush. Blush is a great way to add some color to your face, even without applying foundation beforehand. If you are worried about covering up blemishes, remind yourself that not only do you typically do not have time to care, but adding color will attract anyone's attention to your bright, beautiful, and colorful cheeks rather than blemishes. This can also work even if you don't apply blush on a regular basis.
- Lips. Lips are the final piece to the puzzle of complimenting a five-minute make up routine. You shouldn’t go anywhere without considering a lip balm…even if it’s just Chapstick. Adding shine, color, or a shimmer to lips is always essential. It doesn’t have to be bold; a pale, neutral or earthly tone will do. It's important to stick to light pinks, peaches, beiges, or mauves…depending on your skin tone, color, and features, of course.
- Confidence. And the final item and ingredient? Confidence. Regardless of where you have to go or what you have to do, don't you dare leave the house without your confidence. Even if you feel self-conscious, or even “naked”, without your usual makeup routine on, remember that natural beauty is where it’s at...and what you always have time for.
The five-minute make up routine can work for anyone, regardless of age or
style. Once you have perfected five-minute make up routine, you'll be able to do it in perhaps even less time, and with more confidence.
